
General Responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing forms of communication with co-workers, managers, and participants of CSP programs.
- Provide leadership and vision in the improvement and development of existing and new innovative sports and recreation programs.
- Establish and monitor programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines for staff to ensure quality member experience.
- Responsible for all Chappapeela Sports Park game night operations.
- Represent and promote C.S.P. in the community as needed and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, business, and governmental entities.
- Identify and resolve program problem areas to ensure member satisfaction.
- Submit End of Year Survey.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Daily program organization—participant paperwork and folders, birth certificates, etc..
- Create rosters, schedules, etc., for all programs.
- Ability to work flexible hours and evenings is a must.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- At least one year of management experience in coordinating sports programs and/or leagues.
- Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make oral presentations, direct, and organize large program meetings.
- Knowledge of computer software applications as related to sport registration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sports programming and equipment.
- Knowledge of sports planning and scheduling.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated customer service and public relations skills.
Pre-Season Duties
- Meet with Director and Commissioner to finalize dates and league rules.
- Schedule & set dates for following activities:
- Open & close registration
- Parent check-in, Coaches' meeting, Umpire/Ref meeting
- Player Skills Development Seminar
- Begin Practice
- Begin Games
- Technical Development Activities
- Tournament week
- Responsible for researching and ordering equipment and supplies for programs (example: trophies for champions only).
- Collect estimate on uniforms (each sport varies) for sports including:
- NFL Play 60
- Baseball, Softball, Tee ball
- Soccer
- Volleyball
- Basketball
- Implement registration policies and procedures.
- Set up programs in Active for registration.
- Create player profile folder for each participant , including:
- Registration Form
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of Payment
- Oversee in-house registration methods:
- Walk-up registration
- Fill out registration form
- Accept: Credit, Check, or Money Order only
- Issue Receipt
- Inform each customer emails will be sent weekly
- Create rosters—bring your own team, or player placement.
- Schedule CSP league practices and games on the website.
- Learn how to create programs in Active.
In Season Duties
- Create parent information packet (Assistants put together ), which includes:
- Park Map
- Parent code of conduct
- Park rules
- League rules
- Facilitate and oversee duties performed by league commissioner, including:
- Direct contact to all coaches.
- Direct contact to all umpires & referees.
- Recruit and train coaches.
- Background checks.
- Post accurate game stats on website.
- Ensure that materials are properly secured and maintained.
- Provide ongoing maintenance to sports equipment and facilities.
- Report unclean conditions, safety hazards, and malfunctioning equipment.
- On-site manager during league games.
- Create and bind coaches' handbooks.
- Set up on game day.
- Assist in picking up score clocks and various equipment after competition.
- Work under the supervision of the Programs Director to send weekly communications.
- Organize player of the weeks per sport.
End of Season Duties
- Blast mail end-of-year survey.
- Oversee the collection of equipment.
- Inventory all returned equipment.
