Our History
Zemurray Park is a longstanding, well-established neighborhood park spanning 33 acres in Hammond, featuring a playground, a large pond, and key recreational assets like the Zemurray Swimming Pool and the Hammond Dreamland Skate Park. The park has historically been a central community hub, offering various recreational opportunities in addition to sports facilities, including the Reimer's, Stire, and Settoon baseball fields.
Building on the park's existing infrastructure, Zemurray Sports, Powered by H.A.R.D. #1, was established as a cooperative effort between the Hammond Area Recreation District #1 (H.A.R.D. #1) and the City of Hammond. Announced to expand HARD#1's successful sports programming, this initiative aims to reach even more student athletes in the Tangipahoa Parish area. Zemurray Sports officially launched its programs on Reimer's field in the fall of 2024, beginning with co-ed flag football and co-ed soccer.
