My name is Stephanie Dossett.
I am the mother of Jack's Dossett.
He has been a TOPs basketball player for the past three years.
I heard about TOPs program basically the year that it started.
We were actually a member of another recreational park in another parish.
So we had to travel every Saturday to that park and as much as my husband and I loved it, you know, getting Jack to participate, he actually didn't like it.
So when we found the program here at Chappapeela, we wanted to try and let you see how it goes and from the very first day he has been excited.
During season he'll wake up every Sunday and be like basketball, basketball, basketball.
Jack is non-verbal but he uses prompts and when he wants to speak or enjoy something, you can't stop him.
As a whole this program has been extremely important to not only Jack but my entire family.
He has become more social.
So it's not just inside of the gym that's made a difference in our life.
It's overall in general his social and competence has been brought up to the highest level I can think of right now.
I would strongly recommend the TOPs program.
They are so encouraging here and so supportive and just the support alone and the kids wanting to come back every week and asking to come back and play multiple sports and I just encourage anyone that's interested in or thinking about the possibility of joining to just come check it out.
