This gives children a chance to become accustomed to the park and be introduced to fundamentals prior to fall and spring leagues.

“I want to get kids active throughout the summer,” said Grose. “I suggested we run mini skills series throughout the summer. Usually we do not venture into offering our own camps. It’s a shame to not utilize these beautiful facilities and get children active and out of the house.”

CSP staff members will serve as coaches for the camp, including Grose, Director Ryan Barker and Youth and Adult Sports Commissioner Heath Brunies.  According to Grose, most of the staff members have coaching experience or skill sets that can assist in character development and engagement for the youth.

Grose explains, “We know our mission and trust in our mission to be providers of the best recreational facilities and services while keeping the child’s development first. Our staff will ensure kids have fun while participating in sports and we hold ourselves accountable to be the best character role models for the youth.”

Local athletes will assist during the Summer Skills Series. Clinics will be held for three days each from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The series began with a volleyball clinic held from June 4-6.

The following sessions are currently offered: Flag Football July 9-11, Softball, Baseball and Tee-Ball July 23-25.

Each clinic of varying sports is only $45 each.

The staff is excited about remaining diligent in their quest to develop well rounded athletes of ages and levels.

“Whether it’s foundation exercises or technically advanced activities, CSP is prepared and excited to develop it all,” said Grose.
